Publications/ repertoire/
productions & background experience
First collection of poetry, Take a Deep Breath, was published by Summer Palace Press in 2004. I am a regular contributor to Sunday Miscellany RTE Radio 1. Read widely including the Clé Author and Publisher library tour. I have worked on an annual basis in primary schools, have done a series of creative writing classes with several transition year schools and I work on a regular basis with adult writing groups.
Session Details
Working in a class room situation I like to give warm up written exercises and then longer pieces. I always go through the class so that every child tells me what he/she has written. My aim is to encourage the child to use his imagination with the emphasise more on original ideas than me correcting work. I am trying to encourage the child to decide what method of writing, whether personal or fiction he enjoys better.
