productions & background experience
Storyteller Danielle Allison has travelled all over Ireland telling stories. I bring my sense of humour creativity and adaptability to my stories which allow me to relate to children of all ages. I specialise in stories for children, and provide an interactive approach to storytelling and encourage audience participation in an amusing and entertaining manner. I performs regularly in schools, nurseries, playschools, shopping centres, libraries and festivals.
Some include The Three Rivers storytelling Festival, Collins Barracks Museum, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Galway Libraries, Mother and toddler groups, Roscommon County Libraries, St.Maelruains NS. Tallaght, Turlough House, Coole Park and the National Library.
I do storytelling sessions for Preschool and National Schools, my repertoire ranges from folklore, fairy tales, tall tales, and world folklore tales. Sessions usually run 45mins-1hr depending on the age group of the children. A comfortable setting where the children can all sit relaxed is best, if this is in a classroom then moving chairs back to create floorspace is best.
Age Group Details
Children should be grouped in the following age brackets to have the most enjoyable and entertaining storytelling sessions: 4-6yr olds, 7-9 yr olds, 10-12 yr olds, or as they are in their classroom groupings (or year groupings as for teenagers).
I work full time as a storyteller so I am available to work every day depending on previous engagements.
