Publications/ repertoire/
productions & background experience
My two publications are The Point of Singing (Abbey Press, 1999), a short collection of poems, and Interacting - 50 Scripts (Russell House Publishing, 2007), a book of short, sometimes zany, drama scripts for experimentation and dramatic exploration. I've also published in various journals in Ireland and England. Some of my poems have been translated into French. Also: Eskimo Advice (ebook: edwarddenniston.com/ebook.html)
I've been doing poetry readings for quite a while and have done creative writing workshops for both adults and school children. Mostly I've worked with the secondary level age group both in a school setting and as part of youth drama programmes. I am particularly interested in using space and the natural environment as a starting point for both the writing of poems and the devising of dramatic situations. Also, I'm very drawn to the place where dramatic performance and poetry meet. I am a full-time teacher of English, Drama, and Media Studies. Website: www.edwarddenniston.com
