productions & background experience
Poetry: A Cold Forbidding Irish Green (University of Ulster, 1990) & A Strong Weakness (Charles Macklin, 2000)
Short stories: Out of the Blue (Clegnagh House, 1992)
Play: Maria Live (wrote & produced; a celebration of the life of Maria Edgeworth staged by Backstage Theatre, Longford as part of the Maria Edgeworth festival, 2006)
I am a long time facilitator with Pushkin Trust Northern Ireland & am widely experienced in working in Northern Ireland schools & creative writing cross border initiatives for children & adults.
Session Details
I prefer to work with groups of less than 20. I use prepared scripts as 'triggers' for the creative writing sessions, so my classroom requirements are minimal. As well as poetry & short stories, I have wide experience as a broadcaster & in stage production.
Age Group Details
From age 8 upwards at primary level. At post-primary level, vastly experienced as writer in residence.
