Rules and Policies

As a general note, the philosophy of this forum is to encourage constructive criticism of participants’ work, to foster discussion of the arts in general, and to assist in the building of an online cultural community. Prospective and existing members should always be aware that constructive criticism of poems and opinions may include negative feedback.

The administrators of the Poetry Ireland forum reserve the right to edit or close any thread with good reason, and to remove any member for any reason we deem appropriate. For example, if a member is disrupting the daily running of the forum by posting obscene, vulgar, hateful or threatening messages; or by over-reacting to fair comment; or by promoting sexism or racism: these are all grounds for either permanent or temporary removal from the forum.

Please be aware that any charge by a member of libel or defamation made on the forum is unwelcome, and, if such a charge is not taken to its proper legal conclusion, it may leave the member in question open to a similar counter-charge.

Although the administrators of the Poetry Ireland forum will remove all objectionable messages from this forum within a reasonable time, it is impossible for us to review all messages instantaneously. Finally, all messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of the Poetry Ireland forum, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.
