Imagining Italy: The Irish Centre for Poetry Studies Summer School

The Annual Summer School of the Irish Centre for Poetry Studies will this year focus on poetic representations of Italy and the role that Italy has played in the West’s imagination from antiquity to the present day. Programme themes include Imperium: Rome as Imagination of Ourselves; Traveller or Tourist – How to be in Italy when writing about Italy; Romantic Italies - Sex and Death with Goethe, Shelley and Byron; and Dreams and Disillusion – Contemporary Italy and Poetry. The venue is the Mater Dei Institute (DCU), Clonliffe Rd, D3, on 20-21 June.

42nd Annual Listowel Writers’ Week Line-Up Announced

Abridged, the poetry/art magazine is looking for submissions for its Lockjaw issue. A maximum of 3 poems may be submitted of any length. This issue will be in collaboration with the Belfast Photo Festival. Call for Creative Professionals: Creative Labs

Creative Labs is now accepting applications for professionals interested in working with others to develop new ideas and concepts through open-mindedness, experimentation and collaboration.

Creative Labs are open to anyone in the creative sectors based in the regions and neighbouring areas.

A budget of €15,000 will be available to each of the three labs, which will enable the hire of specialist equipment/materials or workspace, supporting the development of new ideas and concepts.

The Irish Polish Society Review is the official Yearbook of the Irish Polish Society starting with the year 2013. It has been established to promote greater mutual interest, integration, and understanding between the Irish and Polish communities. The journal is dedicated to the publication of high-quality articles on the arts, society, history, cultural events, economic and political relationships between Poland and Ireland as well as reports on IPS activities.
