Days of Irish Poetry in the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin
The Literaturwerkstatt in Berlin is hosting a celebration of Irish poetry this autumn from the 25 to 27 of September. Supported by Ireland Literature Exchange and the Irish Embassy in Berlin, poets Derek Mahon, Alan Gillis, Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh, Peter Sirr, Vona Groarke , Thomas McCarthy and Gerard Smyth will present a cross-section of the best of contemporary Irish poetry to German audiences over the course of the three day programme. The photographer John Minihan will also give a talk about his work as one of Ireland’s most important literary photographers over the past four decades.
Moderated by translators Monika Rinck and Hans-Christian Oeser, the events will all take place in the Literaturwerkstatt, Knackstrasse 97, 10435 Berlin, www.literaturwerkstatt.org.
