Introductions Series
A series focusing on emerging poets. The Introductions offer an exciting opportunity for talented, emerging poets to showcase their work at a reading and to work with an established, published poet in a workshop environment. Throughout the process the poets will be advised and directed in their work culminating in a reading to a live audience, which will be recorded and published on the Poetry Ireland website. The readings are usually held in early June.

How to apply
Submissions are invited each year. The criteria for entry is poets who have already had poems published in reputable journals and are working towards or have just completed a first collection.
To enter
- A short biography and covering letter accompanied by a selection of poems is requested.
- Submissions can be no longer than 10 pages
- Poems may be previously published or unpublished.
- Poets submitting must have had a body of work published in journals or magazines.
Submission deadlines for 2012 Introductions Series will be announced in Autumn 2012
Applications should be marked Introductions and sent to Poetry Ireland, 32 Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
Selected applicants are usually informed within two months and, depending on the number of submissions, approximately 15 poets are selected each year.
