"Cross-Stream: Ways of Writing" Lecture Series

A series of talks from a diverse group of outstanding contemporary poets discussing the compositional process behind one of their poems. Produced in partnership with Fingal Libraries, these talks / presentations offer a unique opportunity for poetry audiences, writers, students and general readers to gain an insight into the range of approaches towards writing. Taking places in various library branches over four weeks in February and March, these events are all free admission and start at 6:30pm. They will also include Q&A sessions.

Limerick Literary Feastival

A star-studded line up of participants have been confirmed fro the 2015 Limerick Literary Festival held annually in honour of Kate o Brien

The three-day festival with include and all day conference in Mary Immaculate College on the theme of "Loss in Irish Writing" and the inaugural Kate O Brien Award will also be presented to the most popular Irish author.

Patrick Kavanagh's The Great Hunger

A dramatized version of the Patrick Kavanagh poem "The Great Hunger" at Tuar Ard Arts Centre on the 21st of February.

Touring around Ireland this play is entirely performed by the actor Peter Duffy, a sight not to miss.

Jane’s work has been described as a kaleidoscope of poetry where Morrissey meets Anna Magnani meets Edith Sitwell. Patrick’s work stems from a curiosity and sense of wonder about the workings of family and aging, love and loss. Supported by Arts Council England.

The Squat Pen : Ciaran Carson

The Squat Pen presents another fine evening of poetry, music, and prose at No Alibis bookstore in Belfast. Our special guest is Ciaran Carson, author of some two dozen books of poetry, prose and translation and winner of the TS Eliot and Forward Prizes. We are also delighted to present: novelist Jan Carson, author of 'Malcolm Orange Disappears,' poets Sam Ferrante, from Albany, New York, and Padraig Regan from Belfast, singer/songwriter Andy Train and NI's favourite arts broadcaster Marie-Louise Muir.

The Squat Pen is hosted by Ray Givans and Paul Jeffcutt.

66 Nautical Miles - Celebrating Welsh Literature

With the Six Nations under-way this month, we can't help but think of our neighbouring Wales just 66 nautical miles away.

This event aims to delve into Welsh literature, music and other aspects of the Welsh cultural identity.

Nerys Williams, Simon Holloway, Johnathan Williams and Nessa O'Mahony will be joining us for the event.

Also there will be performances throughout the night by Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir, conducted by Geraint Waters.
