The James Plunkett Short Story competition consists of three sub-competitions. The closing dates for each are listed below:

5 March
30 April
16 August

Three winners of each will read at the Irish Writer's Centre and be shortlisted for overall award on the 16th October.

1st prize: €2000
2nd prize: €1000
3rd prize: €500
