Publications/Repertoire/Productions & Background Experience
Tá dhá phictiúrleabhar do dhaoine óga scríofa agam: Lúlú agus an Oíche Ghlórach (Futa Fata 2010) agus Ní Mise a Rinne É! (Futa Fata 2012). Tá roinnt mhaith oibre déanta agam i scoileanna Gaeltachta agus ruainne le scoileanna Béarla. Bhí mé mar scríbhneoir cónaitheach faoi scáth na heagraíochta pobail Pléaráca Chonamara i scoileanna Gaeltachta.
I have written two picturebooks in Irish, both published by Futa Fata: Lúlú agus an Oíche Ghlórach (2010) illustrated by Steve Simpson – also available in an English translation Lulu and the Noisy Night – and Ní Mise a Rinne É! (2012) illustrated by Donough O’Malley. My work also includes placements as writer-in-residence with various primary schools.
Session Details
Dirim ar cheardlanna scríbhneoireachta a dhéanamh do dhaoine óga nuair a thugaim cuairt ar scoil agus an aidhm a bhíonn agam ná oibriú leis an scoil chun ceardlann a chur ar fáil atá feiliúnach do riachtanais na scoile. Tréaslaím leis an nglúin óg atá ag fás aníos as a gcruthaitheacht agus a n-éirim agus leis an obair atá á dhéanamh ag scoileanna ar fud na tíre leis an scríbhneoireacht a threisiú.
When I visit a school I like to consult with the school ahead of time so that I can a creative writing workshop together that will meet the individual needs of the school and the students. The focus of the sessions can vary greatly depending on the school. I like to try to help the students complete a short piece of work during the workshop, this could be a comic-style short story or the plan for a longer piece.
