Liz Weir is a storyteller and writer based in Cushendall, Co Antrim. She is an experienced facilitator and is a mentor with the Writers in Schools Scheme. Liz works on both sides of the border visiting both primary and secondary schools to do one-off visits, residencies and training sessions with teachers and parents. Sessions can be tailored to support different themes such as anti-bullying or multi-culturalism or various topics, eg Vikings, The Irish Famine or World War 1.
Liz is the author of two collections for The O'Brien Press Boom Chicka Boom and Here, There and Everywhere, a picture book When Dad Was Away (Frances Lincoln Books) and fifteen titles to support the Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities curriculum for schools in Northern Ireland.
She is the writer of the Together in the Park respecting difference series for the Media Initiative for Children and has also written Tales from the Road a story about the life of traveller chilldren for the Early Years Organisation.
