Publications/Repertoire/Productions & Background Experience
I grew up in Whitehead, Co. Antrim, before going off to England to college and then living in Wales, where I worked in special needs education. I returned to Ireland in 2007, and now live in Donegal.
My books have won many prizes internationally, including the English Association Award (Cow), the Tír na nÓg award (Georgie), the Parent’s Choice Gold Award and the Anne Izard Storyteller’s Choice Awards (Tales from Old Ireland), and the Nestle Silver Award (The Dancing Tiger).
I write for young people of all ages – from picture books to teenage novels, and thoroughly enjoy visiting schools, libraries and festivals to read from my work and excite people about both reading and writing. I am also a very experienced facilitator of writing workshops for both children and adults.

Session Details
My school sessions usually involve reading from my books and then answering a million questions. I’m more often asked to do primary schools, but enjoy all age groups. I also very much enjoy giving writing workshops.
