Making the Poem with Séan Lysaght Event Poster

Making the Poem is a poetry series curated by Rachel Coventry and presented in association with Poetry Ireland at Westside Library in Galway. Each event features a single poet and consists of a reading followed by an interview about poetic practice, process and recent work, with a chance for the audience to ask questions.

Following the first series earlier in 2026, Making the Poem returns this autumn with three Saturday afternoon events: Anne Fitzgerald on 26 September, Ciaran O’Rourke on 3 October, and Seán Lysaght on 10 October. All events begin at 3pm.

The series offers an opportunity to hear poets read from their work and to explore some of the thinking and processes behind the poems. The events are free to attend and take place at Westside Library, Galway.

This third event in the series features Seán Lysaght on 10 October at 3pm.
