• Poetry Ireland Partnership Application

Open to Festivals and Poetry Events
  • Poetry Ireland is committed to connecting poetry with people. One of the ways we do this is through supporting others to create live events and readings all over Ireland. Through the support which we receive from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, we enjoy rewarding partnerships with festivals, arts offices, arts centres and curators at home and abroad.

These partnerships enable us to create reading and performance opportunities for poets at all stages of their careers thereby ensuring that the best work is made available to the widest possible audience, securing a future for Irish poetry that is as celebrated as its past.

In 2024, Poetry Ireland has identified a number of priorities for partnership support of festivals and events:

    1. Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy promotes poets who are excluded, underrepresented or marginalised - we are particularly keen to support events or readings which promote published or spoken word poets from such backgrounds.

    2. Intergenerational events/ readings - promoting newly published collections / anthologies, combining mature and early career, published poets e.g. Introductions/Céadlinte poets.

    3. Mainstage events - these would include support for international guests and / or music + reading combinations

While we are not in a position to fully financially support any event, we can contribute to the budgets. In addition, we provide communications support in the form of inclusion in our newsletter, website and social media. We also endeavour to attend festivals and events which we support.

This 'call out' seeks proposals from Festivals / Events taking place throughout 2024. For festivals and events taking place between January and June 2024, we invite you to respond by 31st January 2024. The deadline is April 30th for festivals and events taking place from July to December 2024.

    Billing and Branding Requirements:

    (a) All funded projects are required to be headlined as "presented in association with Poetry Ireland."

    (b) Inclusion of our logo on the event "page" in both online and hard copy brochure and all social media relating to the project. We will provide our logo pack.

    (c) We would ask that support from Poetry Ireland is acknowledged in the introduction of the event

    (d) Where practically possible, display of Poetry Ireland pop up stand or branding at all events which we support and availability of Poetry Ireland publications e.g. Poetry Ireland Review and Trumpet in bookshops at festivals which we support.
