Poetry Ireland announces new guest editor of Trumpet

4th August 2021

Poetry Ireland is delighted to announce that poet Mícheál McCann has been appointed as guest editor of Trumpet 10, the literary pamphlet packed with reviews, essays, and strong opinions.

Commenting on his appointment, Mícheál said:

“I’m absolutely ecstatic and very grateful to be given Trumpet’s helm for this issue, and to train it on the thrilling variousness that is poetry being written in the North/NI right now. The issue will contain new poems, essays, and reviews of work that consolidates Northern writers’ worldwide appeal, as well as how that work is casting into the future of poetry.”

Issue 10 of Trumpet is due to be launched this autumn. Mícheál is the second guest editor of the literary pamphlet, following on from Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan who guest edited Trumpet 9 in 2020. You can find out more about the pamphlet on the Trumpet website page
