Poetry Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Communications Manager, Lisa Jewell, who will commence working with the organisation from July 15th 2019.
Lisa began her career as a freelance journalist and editor, working for twelve years for national and regional media including the Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Sunday Tribune, Newstalk, Gazette Group and various national magazines. She also managed copywriting projects for several clients, particularly working with charities in the health sector.
Lisa has since moved into roles as PR Manager, Marketing Communications Manager, Content Manager, Communications Specialist and Social Media Manager, working for organisations including: Dublin Institute of Technology (now Technological University Dublin), the Marine Institute (including driving the digital strategy for SeaFest, Ireland’s national maritime festival), Bord na Móna and working agency-side with Alice PR & Events.
Lisa’s educational background includes a B.A. in English Literature and Classical Civilisation from Trinity College Dublin, an M.A. in Journalism from Dublin Institute of Technology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Marketing (Level 8) from National College of Ireland.
Lisa will work closely with the existing team at Poetry Ireland to promote the areas of publications, education and live literature, and the development of the Poetry Ireland Centre at 11 Parnell Square East.
