All Through the Night, edited by Marie Heaney, is shortlisted in two categories, and a poem first published in Poetry Ireland Review: The Rising Generation is shortlisted for the Listowel Writers’ Week Poem of the Year in this year’s Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards.
All Through the Night, Poetry Ireland’s anthology of night poems and lullabies, edited by Marie Heaney, is Shortlisted for the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards in both TheJournal.ie Best Irish-Published Book of the Year and the RTÉ Radio 1 The Ryan Tubridy Show Listeners’ Choice Award categories. Michael Naghten Shanks’ "Love / Hotel / Love", which was first published in Poetry Ireland Review: The Rising Generation, edited by Vona Groarke, is Shortlisted for the Listowel Writers’ Week Poem of the Year. The Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards Shortlist was announced in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Tuesday 25 October.

Michael Naghten Shanks is a writer, poet, and editor from Dublin. His writing has featured in gorse, 3:AM Magazine and The Best New British And Irish Poets 2016. In 2015 he was shortlisted for the Melita Hume Poetry Prize and selected for the Poetry Ireland Introductions Series. His debut poetry pamphlet, Year Of The Ingénue (2015), is available from Eyewear Publishing, and he is the editor of online literary journal The Bohemyth. Michael’s Shortlisted poem "Love / Hotel / Love" was included in Poetry Ireland Review Issue 118: The Rising Generation, a collection of poems and prose from thirty six of Ireland’s new generation of poets, edited by Vona Groarke.
The Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards 2016 will take place on 16th November.
