Poetry Day Ireland takes place on Thursday 29 April 2021, with the theme 'New Directions: Maps and Journeys'. There are lots of ways to join in and celebrate the joy of poetry. Below you'll find some ideas on how you can get involved.

Read a poem 

Tell us what poetry you’re reading at the moment. Whether you're an aficionado already or just dipping your toe in, let us know and share using the hashtag #PoetryDayIRL! We will be sharing themed pocket poems nearer to Poetry Day Ireland so keep an eye out.

Celebrate in School 

Take a look at our education pages for information on how to get your school involved on Poetry Day Ireland, even when remote teaching is in place. We have countless ideas, lesson plans and videos on the way to help bring poetry into the classroom.
