Mixed Media May Day

Mixed Media May Day workshop is a collaboration between Oughterard Writers Group and uactarARTS Community Arts Group and facilitated by artist and poet, Barbara Dunne.

Among the emerging spring flora and fauna, we will explore drawing, poetry and different ways of creating. 

The event will begin with a walk around the four quatrants/seasons of the Garden. Poetry relating to Spring and May will be read and discussed in the Roundhouse. Using these poems as prompts, participants will go out into the gardens again and draw and write their response to them. Writing and drawing are both forms of mark making.

This workshop is aiming to engage both parts of the brain and to invite participants to look at their subject matter in a different medium. Participants will be guided through different exercises, from drawing, writing and a combination of both. There will be oppertunities for participants throughout the morning to share their work, insights and thoughts.
