Poetry Workshops for Adults – Kevin Higgins

London-born Irish poet, Kevin Higgins will be hosting this year’s workshops in Athenry.  He is not only a distinguished poet with five previous full collections of poems to his name, he is also Creative Writing Director for the NUI Galway International Summer School and his work has been broadcast widely from the BBC and RTÉ to Radio 4. 

Many of his students have gone on to achieve publication success. His workshop participants at Galway Arts Centre have gone on to win the prestigious Hennessy Award for New Irish Poetry, the Cúirt New Writing Prize, an Arts Council Bursary and the Cúirt Poetry Grand Slam, Kevin is also co-organiser of the successful Over The Edge reading series which specialises in promoting new writers.
