Poems that Move You : The Poetry of Movement and the Movement of Poetry

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft loving animal of your body love what it loves.
- Wild Geese by Mary Oliver
Our bodies are made for movement. In this session, we will move mindfully, freely, with ease and awareness; we will use poetry in the way it connects us to our soul.
There will be reflective pauses and sometimes simple yoga poses, we will allow words to touch us, others words and those from each person’s well of creativity.
Poems speak to us in a way that is different from other forms of communication. This is an invitation to dive into ourselves through these two powerful media, movement and poetry. All with the intention of kindness and relaxation.
