‘Poems that move you’- public event

We are delighted to partner with the Carrick-on-Suir and District Lions Club on the 'Poems that move you' activity. One of the Club's signature projects is 'Diabetes Awareness', they support this wellness campaign by promoting regular physical activity to help prevent, delay and manage Type 2 Diabetes.

The Club celebrated 50 years of service in 2019, its members, from all walks of life, volunteer their time to help organise events to provide funds to support and serve their Community.

Our chosen activity is walking and the route starts at the renowned Ormond Castle and Tudor Manor House. Together, we will meander through the town centre, up and down medieval laneways, over bridges, along the marina and ending the walk on the majestic River Suir Blueway.

We will be stopping at several points along the route, taking in the town's scenic spots and reading poems, together celebrating poetry and promoting physical activity.

This is a public event open to everyone
