Schools Awards in Dunshaughlin

As part of Poetry Town Dunshaughlin, Schools Awards are taking place, with primary and secondary school students invited to submit poems in six different categories. They can write a poem about their town, a local place, or a person from the area.

Schools in the town have been contacted with details of how the Awards work. Entries opened on 3 September and will close at midnight on 20 September (now extended to midnight on 30 September).

About the Awards

Awards entries will be judged anonymously, and up to six awards will be given in each town. An independent adjudicator has been appointed for each town who will shortlist the submissions, and Poetry Ireland will make the final decisions on the awards.

Full information, including details of the categories, can be found on the Rules and Conditions of Entry PDF

How to enter

Schools can enter the awards by filling out this Online Form and uploading the poem(s) as a PDF or Word Document. Make sure to read the Rules and Conditions information before uploading entries. Thank you!
