Pop-Up Poetry Nature Walk

  • 12 September, 12pm
  • Meet at Woodland Café in the grounds of Strokestown House

Local Roscommon poet Gerry Boland will lead this gentle walk through the woodlands at Strokestown Park House.  There will be stops to read Gerry's own nature poems and nature poems he admires.  Feel free to come along and recite a favourite poem or your own poem.

Gerry was Writer-in-Residence for Roscommon County Council in 2013 and again in 2014. He is an experienced workshop facilitator and regularly leads workshops for adults and children. In 2011 and 2012, O’Brien Press published his trilogy, A Rather Remarkable Grizzly Bear, the first of which, Marco Moves In, was nominated for an Irish Book Award. In addition to poetry, Gerry has published fiction and travel books.

If you would like to read a poem, please get in touch with Gerry no later than Friday 10 September so that we will have an indication of how many poems will be read.

Duration of this event: 60-90 minutes
