Reverse Charge

Thomas MacIntyre

You should have known Eve, the girl next door, fair priestess of vin ordinaire,
or what about Helen? patchouli of boudoir, poetry talk, arc of her lingerie
a Calder mobile, Helen,
that was the rainy season,
I was born for Mary's
multiple assumptions, annunciations, Mary, mine ethereal Mary,
come back Eve from Tipperary,
which brings us to Sophie,
Sophie, where are you?
and why don't you call?
oh, Eve on a journey,
Helen turned wise, Mary
down from the mountain,
I wait by the phone,
Sophie, please call. Call,
Sophie. Sophie, please call.
