The Guardian on Paul Muldoon's Incantata

Beautiful, lyrical and haunting Paul Muldoon’s Incantata promises to be one of the Irish theatrical highlights of 2018 when it receives its world premiere at Galway International Arts Festival from July 16-27. This major new play is a deeply affecting story of love and loss, starring one of Ireland’s leading actors Stanley Townsend (Spooks, Quirke, Waking the Dead) and is directed by Sam Yates, fresh from his West End success with Glengarry Glen Ross (with Christian Slater.)

Pulitzer Prize Winner Paul Muldoon’s script is full of love, humour and the joy of a life shared together with his former partner, the artist Mary Farl Powers. It is a deeply affective, poignant and heartbreaking love story featuring a haunting soundtrack by composer, Teho Teardo.

Produced in association with Poetry Ireland.
