Lemn Sissay in conversation with Edel Coffey

  • Thursday 30 April, 8.00pm
  • An Taibhdhearc, 19 Middle Street, Galway

To celebrate Poetry Day Ireland, poet, author and broadcaster Lemn Sissay will join Edel Coffey for a discussion and reading of his critically-acclaimed autobiography My Name is Why, which has enthralled audiences and readers since publication.

His position at the heart of contemporary poetry and his indomitable spirit and brilliance have all been shaped by his own extraordinary journey from foster care into the public care system in the UK.

Lemn has performed throughout the world from The Library of Congress in The United States to The University of Addis Ababa. Lemn is Chancellor of The University of Manchester and is the first poet commissioned to write for the London Olympics.
