Beir Bua
Beir Bua is an exciting new experimental poetry and art journal on the Irish literary scene.
Michelle Moloney King started the journal to home the avant-garde and surreal. A showground for poetry and art echoing the abstract and bouncing back an even more 'real' than the year of 2020.
Issue One was successfully launched online during Ireland's second lockdown to over three thousand views. It also resulted in 6 poets, from issue one, recieving nominations for the Pushcart Prize.
The avant-garde, L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, neo-postmodern, and surrealist poetry and abstract art is the beating heart of Beir Bua Journal and now with the first issue out there's more of an emphasis on seeking out these new styles to the growing readership of this edgy journal.
Epecially wishing to support: women-identifying and gender-non-conforming poets, Irish minority groups, people of colour, neurodiverse, LGBTQ and other minority groups.
Beir Bua is open for submissions three times a year:
Winter: 15 December to 15 January
Autumn: 15th August to 15 September
