Deadline: 6 Oct 2019

In partnership with Books Ireland, Dalkey Creates Writing Festival’s Competitions; the annual Dalkey Short Story Prize and the ALL-NEW Dalkey Poetry Prize are now open for entries. Both competitions welcome writers from all over the world, writing in the English language. A piece may be entered provided it has not been entered previously or published elsewhere.  Dalkey Creates Festival Director, Anna Fox stated her objective for setting up this writing festival as ‘encouraging and supporting writers, and providing a platform for their work. Our Poetry and Short Story Prizes are a great opportunity and incentive for writers to complete and polish a piece of work.’  In addition to the €1000 Euro prize money, winners of the competitions will be published by Books Ireland Magazine (spring edition).

The Dalkey Short Story Prize and the Dalkey Poetry Prize are part of the Dalkey Creates Writing Festival, which takes place on 28 - 30 November.  Dalkey Creates offers a range of workshops, an open mic, informal writer talks, a writer-in-residence, a publishing forum and networking opportunities for writers.
