Submission Guidelines

Ragaire Literary Magazine is accepting poetry, short stories and creative non-fiction until 31 July 2024 for possible inclusion in Issue 2 (or until our maximum number of submissions for consideration has been met.)

The best way to see the type of writing we love to publish is to buy a copy of our wonderful Issue 1, which you can do here. We always appreciate the support of our readers.

Details and guidelines are as follows:

We welcome submissions of poems, short stories and creative non-fiction from Ireland and abroad, in English. Please only submit work to one category.

POETRY SUBMISSIONS: Up to three poems of no more than 40 lines each. Please submit poetry HERE.

SHORT STORY SUBMISSIONS: One piece of at least 1000 and no more than 2,000 words in length. Please submit a short story HERE.

CREATIVE NON-FICTION: For Issue 2 we are delighted to announce we are also accepting submissions of creative non-fiction. One piece of at least 1000 and no more than 2,000 words in length. Please submit creative non-fiction HERE.

We are not accepting works in translation at this time.

All work submitted must be unpublished and the author’s own work. We will not accept work was created in any way using artificial intelligence.

Submissions are accepted via the google form links above. For any issues using the form, please contact us at this email address: submissions@ragairemagazine.com.

Your name must not be part of the document title or anywhere within your attached document as all submissions are read blind by the editorial team.

Simultaneous Submissions: We accept simultaneous submissions. If another magazine has accepted a piece for publishing before we have responded, please notify us as soon as possible by sending an e-mail to submissions@ragairemagazine.com with the subject line “Withdraw.”

Unfortunately we are not in a position to pay contributors at the moment, but all contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which they are published.

We strongly advise contributors to submit early. We will accept submissions until the submission closure date or until our maximum number of submissions for consideration has been met, whichever date is sooner.

Submissions received outside of this window will not be considered, even if the submission period closes early.

Please note that once submitted, a piece cannot be altered other than to be withdrawn.

We aim to contact everyone within four months.

We ask for first publishing rights for any pieces selected for inclusion in the magazine, and additionally for rights to post select pieces on our website. Copyright remains with the original author/artist at all times.

Please note that a submission that does not follow the guidelines above may not be considered.

Thank you to all who submit to Ragaire Literary Magazine.
