The 2022 Charles Causley International Poetry Competition is now open for entries!

The Causley Trust preserves the legacy of Charles Causley, one of the finest 20th century English Poets. Causley’s work is acknowledged worldwide, and the International Poetry competition is just one of many events that the Trust holds each year for poets and writers to get creative and have their voices heard. This year's Head judge is award-winning poet and literary critic Séan Hewitt, known for his debut poetry collection Tongues Of Fire and his latest prose memoir All Down Darkness Wide

Please make sure that you read the Rules of Entry carefully before entering.

The closing date for the competition is midnight on Sunday 1st January 2023 and the winners will be announced in April/May 2023.

The first prize winner will receive £2,000 plus a one week writing residency at Cyprus Well, Charles Causley’s former home in Launceston.
The second prize winner will receive £250
The third prize winner will receive £100.
