Organised by the Department of Irish and Celtic Studies, Trinity College Dublin, under the rubric of the Manuscript, Book and Print Cultures research theme, the Bardic Poetry Workshop will take place on Friday 12th May 2017in Trinity’s Long Room Hub.
The purpose of this one-day workshop will be to provide an overview of the status quo in the investigation and publication of Bardic poetry and an insight into the skills which need to be brought to bear on the material. The talks will focus on manuscript sources for the poetry itself, the use of grammatical tracts in the editing process, metrics in the editing process, translation, and the interpretation of the historical background.
Fee: €20 (students/unwaged)/€40. Tea/coffee and lunch provided.
