The Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival Poetry Competition

 The Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival Poetry Competition celebrates the theme of ‘Hope in Nature’ and is looking for poems of 30 lines or under that capture the spirit of the theme best.  There are three age groups: 18 & Over, 12 to 17 and 11 & Under

The judge is multi-award winning poet and most recently author of ‘Tiger Girl’ and ‘Mama Amazonica’, Pascale Petit.

The competition is open to anyone as the work is original and previously unpublished. The entry fee for over 18s is £5 per poem and a maximum of 5 poems.  Entry for under 18s is free but limited to 1 poem. Entries open online on the 1st December 2021.

Deadline: 9 January 2022
The shortlist will be announced in February 2022 and all shortlisted poets will be invited to read at a special prize-giving event on Saturday 19th February in the festival weekend.  They will also be included in a specially printed anthology pamphlet.
